Setup a Dialup Connection in Windows XP
If you are finding yourself unable to get online then this can be due to a number of reasons. Here are the steps to follow in order to either setup a connection from scratch or to delete an exisiting connection and resetup again.
Creating the connection.
- Click 'Start'.
- Go to 'Control Panel' on the right hand side
- Locate in Control Panel 'Network Connections' and double click.

- Under the section headed 'Dialup' Right Click over Suffolk Online and Left Click on Delete if you already have a Suffolk Online Dialup Connection Setup

- If asked if your sure you want to delete the connection select 'Yes'
- To create a new connection click on 'Create a new connection' on the left hand side menu and click next.

- Leave the green dot beside 'Connect to the Internet' and then click next.

- Select 'Setup my connection Manually'

- Select Connect using a Dial up Modem.

- In the wizard that appears type in the name 'Suffolk Online' Into the Connection Name Box

- Select Next
- In the phone number box enter in the dialup number given to you by Suffolk Online. If your not sure what this is ring the helpdesk on the number below or you can view our page on general settings page and find the number according to the package your on.

- In the username box type in the username that was sent you in your welcome letter. Again if your not sure what this is ring the helpdesk
- Click in the password Box and enter in your password
- Click in the confirm password and enter in your password again.

- Select Next

Select the box Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop and select finish

- Restart your computer.
